FRAANN

17 y.o. female with severe form of refractory epilepsy of temporal origin. She started her seizures since early childhood, primarily as pseudo-absences with motionless stare and salivation, than later evolving to generalized tonic-clonic. Frequency of seizures differed, mostly 20-30 a month. None of AED were helpful. 
EEG - interictal - showed some repetitive synchronous spiking within right fronto-temporal region.
MRI revealed a mass within right hippocampus.
Pathology - ganglioglioma within right hippocampus
Operated on Sept 2006 - Spencer mode topectomy with amygdalohippocampectomy - seizure free after.
